WELCOME TO COLUMBIA CITY
Columbia City is a neighborhood located in the southeastern part of Seattle in the Rainier Valley. It has a landmark-protected historic business district and is one of the few Seattle neighborhoods with a long history of ethnic and income diversity.
Easy commute options include light rail service from the Columbia City station just 15 minutes to downtown.
Columbia City is a diverse area with historic homes and shopfronts, with its international mix of restaurants and cafes.
Beginning in the ‘80s, Columbia City saw a large influx of minority professionals, artists, gay and lesbian couples, and "urban pioneers" seeking classic housing stock at low prices. By the late ‘90s, Columbia City was referred to as one of Seattle's most creative neighborhoods. In the last decade, it has seen some of the sharpest rises in property values in the entire Seattle area.
Today, the thriving pedestrian business district is home to a great selection of watering holes, markets, notable restaurants, retail, galleries, a historic movie theater, and an amazing seasonal farmer’s market.
Columbia City has the highest Walk Score of any neighborhood south of downtown, there’s a lot to do here, and it’s all concentrated in one area.
